Advocate OS runs a practice from one place. It is multi-tenant: a superadmin sells plans, and each law firm gets its own workspace with roles for its team and for its clients.

Every case carries its type, status, timeline, team, documents and notes. Clients have their own records, documents, billing details and currencies, plus a client-facing dashboard.

Hearings track court, court type and judge, with Google Calendar sync and a full calendar view. Tasks have types, statuses, comments and workflows on a drag-and-drop board.

Categories, types, version history, comments and per-document permissions, on a media library that stores to S3 or local disk.

Research projects with sources, categories, notes and citations, a knowledge-article library and a legal precedents library. An OpenAI assistant is available, switched on per plan.

Regulatory bodies, professional licences, CLE tracking, compliance requirements and audits, with risk assessments and risk categories.

Time entries and timesheets, billing rates, fee structures and fee types. Expenses with categories, invoices, and a public invoice payment page.

Payments run through Razorpay, Cashfree and bank transfer. The India-only set is intentional.

Plans (Free, Starter, Professional and Enterprise) set limits on users, cases, clients, storage and AI, with trials, coupons, referrals and payouts. Roles and permissions, user impersonation and login history sit in the superadmin layer alongside analytics dashboards.

There is also a landing-page builder with custom pages, FAQ, newsletter and contact forms, cookie consent, more than 20 language files, and a web installer. Internal messaging, email and notification templates, Slack, Twilio and webhooks handle communication.

Laravel 12 on PHP 8.2 or later and MySQL, with queues and sessions on the database. The front end is React 19 and TypeScript over Inertia 2, built with Vite 6 and styled with Tailwind CSS 4, shadcn and Radix UI, with Recharts and a TipTap rich-text editor. Tests run on Pest, with Pint and ESLint and Prettier for style.

The interface follows the Ditto design system: light only, a cream canvas, Deep Ink text and a single yellow primary action. Headings are set in Hedvig Letters Serif and everything else in Inter. Buttons and inputs are pill-shaped, cards have a 24px radius, and there are no shadows.

Status is shown by pill style rather than colour: filled means overdue, yellow means today, outline means upcoming, dashed means done.
